Clutch disks are a rotating mass. That's why it's important to make them as light as possible to maximize engine responsiveness. For this reason, Sinter uses light metals and composite materials for the base plates and friction materials. The friction materials do not contain any metal parts. This creates a light, durable clutch system.
To minimize the weight of the clutch, Sinter has developed a special friction material that works with lightweight MMC drive plates made of Kevlar (Metal Matrix Composite), which are about 60% lighter than standard drive plates. They offer dynamic properties, excellent temperature resistance and a long service life.
Kit 1 contains only the friction discs made of special aramid friction material.
Kit 2 also contains the drive plates made of MMC composite.
Centrifugal clutches are available in 2 materials:
Organic material (Organic Silver) for general use with good heat resistance and long service life.
Special, very heat-resistant material (carbon black) for racing, perfect for aggressive starting with a long service life.
